And that process involves building not only your home
but also a long-term relationship with you.
This process is based on the same principles we apply to all our work.
It’s focused and streamlined, but it’s also detailed,
meticulous and beautifully effective.
The first thing we do is meet with you so that we can get to know you
and understand your vision for your home. At this stage we can
offer you a referral to an architect or other design professional if you need
one, and we’re also happy to provide a list of past
clients for you to talk to.

1) The Design Phase
Once we know the scope of work, we figure out what your project
is likely to cost and give you a preliminary estimate. It’s
worth mentioning here that our pricing policy
is based on offering negotiated rather than competitive bids. That’s because
while we recognize price is a very important consideration,
the value we bring to your project is defined by more that just
the cost of the work.
Once you accept our Preliminary Estimate we sign a Preconstruction
Agreement which secures your project in our schedule and
lets us start taking part in design meetings to provide value
engineering services related to construction methods, materials
and scheduling. Finally, everything culminates in a Final Estimate
and Construction Contract based on complete plans and
specifications for your project.
2) Construction Phase
Once we’re ready to start work on your project we assign you a
Project Manager. Their job is to keep your project running
smoothly and to communicate clearly with you throughout the
construction process.
Your project manager is assisted by the production manager,
who will be responsible for overseeing all production
on your project. Both your Project and Production Managers are
Certified Green Building Professionals. Every week this team will meet
with you and your architect on site
to ensure
everything is going as planned and to address any concerns
you have.
Because we’re experienced professionals dedicated to
efficiency and superior craftsmanship we use only the finest local
craftsmen as subcontractors. We provide them with clear
contractual agreements and daily on-site coordination and
supervision to ensure the quality and efficiency of their
performance.
Finally, the excellent work of our field staff and
subcontractors is supported by clear operating procedures company-wide,
comprehensive accounting, and the application of sound
business practices at every level of the company.
3) Post-Construction Phase
Just because your home is finished doesn’t mean our
relationship is. We will provide you with a manual containing all
manufacturer’s warranties and maintenance and care
guidelines for all new installations. And, most importantly,
well after
your project is completed Jeff King & Company will be there
for you. We have confidence in the quality of our work so you
can rest assured that we’ll be available to ensure your
continued satisfaction with your beautiful new home.
